A place that feels like home
El Gordo comfortably accommodates eight guests across three bedrooms and features a hot tub, a cozy fireplace, and a host of amenities. The name, El Gordo, is a clever play on words, as "El Gordo" translates to "the fat one" in Spanish. This moniker holds a personal touch, inspired by my father-in-law's affectionate nickname, "Gordo." His fondness for this cabin location, coupled with its appealing attributes, earned it the playful designation. The place exudes a certain "phat" factor, as attested by the younger generation. Much like our other cabins, El Gordo is nestled deep in the woods, providing a serene escape from the daily grind—a true cabin retreat in the woods.

In the nature
Considerable effort was invested in ensuring the eco-friendliness of this cabin. It boasts impressive energy efficiency, and we minimized the use of forest products during its construction. Employing an innovative and award-winning technology that combines Styrofoam and steel, we achieved a construction method that not only promotes sustainability but also facilitates a spacious and comfortable interior, all while minimizing the building's footprint. Designing and building EL Gordo was a delightful experience for us as we enjoyed piecing together all the elements of the puzzle. We are confident that your stay in it will be equally enjoyable.
